Lately

Hello, I’m Sophie Hansen, a food writer and farmer. On our farm four hours west of Sydney, we raise deer according to holistic practices. This blog is a collection of recipes and resources for people who love supporting their farmers by sourcing, sharing and celebrating good seasonal and local food. Because it’s lovely!

Plotting and planning for a Spring workshop program and thinking that for me at least, it’s all about getting together with like minded people, eating cake, talking lots, sharing ideas and learning new things. Who’d be up for a Spring series of small gatherings where we come together to do just that? A different theme to each, special guests with special skills to share/teach, special locations and super special times to be had - and ALL the cake. Here in Orange and we could even take this thing on the road and visit some friends along the way; @tamsinstable and @groundedpleasures @artclasseswithannieherron @collector_wines @lyttletonstores spring to mind.... what do you reckon??? I think today is what they call a ‘pea souper’; a little snow, a lot of fog and in news just in....netball has been cancelled. Oh joy. I’m going to bake and potter and read and hang at home with Alice all day (the boys weren’t so lucky...rugby still on). Happy Sunday everyone xxx
