We are just back from a 10-day holiday up in Queensland and reluctantly re-entering real life again. And while it really is good to be home, those long days at the beach, late mornings and the luxury of not working for such a long time was the circuit-breaker we all needed. So now it’s back to it and the next few months are going to be full of good things, starting on Sunday with a week of cooking for Mum’s art classes down at Rydal.
In the meantime, here’s a little round-up of blogs to read and things to cook this long weekend…Have a great weekend everyone.
The Friday List
I’ve been so looking forward to Camilla’s new blog The Alimental Sage and now it’s live I know it’ll become a big favourite. So many great recipes and stories already…
Gather and Feast is another new-to-me favourite. Am definitely going to make this citrus, vanilla and olive oil spelt cake sometime soon. And how clean and lovely is the layout of this blog too.
Blackberry bircher muesli crumble from Faring Well – yum scrum.
Really like the idea of these strawberry tarragon sodas. Actually, I like the idea of tarragon in sweet things generally, especially this tarragon mint ice cream from Golubka Kitchen which I’ve made and loved many times.
I’m going to make these strong ginger snaps for dessert one night next week and serve them with a little bowl of warm, roasted rhubarb and a dollop of cream.
Not sure where I’ve been (oh yes, on holidays) but suddenly (to me) it seems that ‘smoothie bowls’ are a thing? I totally dig the concept and might get started with one of these numbers.
Will definately give this asparagus and roasted chickpea salad a whirl next week too.
And saving the best till last – this Nordic caramel almond cake is pretty much exactly my cup of tea.
