Food and Words, Sydney September 14
Also can’t wait to be on the speakers list for this year’s Food and Words festival at the Mint in Sydney on Saturday September 14. This is a super special event and I am so excited to be a part of it. Here’s the full program
Content Camp, Rydal NSW (2 1/2 hours west of Sydney).
Bookings now open for Content Camp e-course students. General bookings will open on August 10
Cost $1100 (includes two full days workshops, overnight accommodation and all meals)
The idea of the content camp is that you go away with LOADS of content ready to share the the confidence to share it in the right way. Your tutors will include me and some fabulous stylists and photographers (details to come – but trust me, it will be amazing). Plus, because it’s a sleep over, there will be plenty of opportunities to connect with each other, cook up collaborations and bounce ideas around – the best conversations at these workshops seem to happen over breakfast or pre-dinner drinks and I promise it will be super fun too. Day one will cover photography and styling. Having a good photo library of images to draw from is CRUCIAL to any good content plan and here we will walk you through how to style, take and edit beautiful engaging photos on your phone or DSLR. From how to style and shoot a flat lay (such a great storytelling technique) to how to shoot your product/service in action, how to shoot people and we’ll also have a little photo booth and everyone will walk away with a lovely new head shot. We will cover how to edit and save your photos so they are ready to roll when you are. Please note that every meal and your beautiful surrounds are also great content opportunities! Day two will focus on the storytelling side of things – how to map out your content plan, working with the pics we took yesterday and the content we wrote that morning so you will go away with at least a month’s worth of content done, dusted and scheduled! There will also be a bonus Instagram stories power session sharing all the tips and tricks to get using this powerful tool really well. Click here to book or to find out more.
Newsletter workshop, Orange NSW
November 7, 2-5pm
Cost – $125pp (includes afternoon tea, half day workshop and debriefing bubbles and cheese and bickies)
In this half day workshop I’ll cover WHY you need a newsletter (hint – placing all your content eggs in one social media basket which you don’t own or control AT ALL is a bit scary when you think about it), how to set one up, how to build it and fill it with content that people will actually read and act on. Newsletters are an increasingly powerful way to communicate with your customers/audience and the best part – once you have your ducks in a row (I’ll help) and are all set up with a nice template, they are not hard to do. And once the work is done, we can de-brief a bit over a glass of bubbles and a nice little chatter platter. Click here for more info or to book
Photo booth and social media workshops with Clancy Job, Jemima Aldridge and Sophie Hansen, November 8, Orange (the Old Convent) and November 22 Dubbo, 10-3.30pm
Cost – $475pp (includes full day workshop, lunch, 3 hour content planning session and every participant goes away with a styled head shot and product shot)
What’s involved?
This will be a really special, super helpful workshop hosted by photographer Clancy Job, stylist Jemima Aldridge and me, Sophie Hansen. It’s all about building your confidence in showing up on your social media feeds, on your websites and/or newsletters and having a crystal clear idea of what you are there to say and loads of inspiration and ideas for how to say it. Plus, every participant gets a 15 minute ‘photo booth session’ styled by Jemima and shot by Clancy; You will walk away with one or two beautiful new headshots and at least one vignette or flat lay shot of your product/service/thing (which in itself pays for the day when you think about what you’d have to front up to book a head shot and product styling session with a professional photographer and stylist). While the photo booth sessions are happening, Sophie will run a ‘social media and content marketing 101’ – how to write a ‘who/what/why’ statement that will underpin your messaging and tell people in just one paragraph, who you are, why you do what you do and what value you are offering up. I’ll also give an overview of how to craft a content plan that will help you tell your story in a way that builds communities, starts conversations and most of all grows your business. Over a ‘working lunch’; Clancy, Jemima and Sophie will run a panel discussion – sharing insights and answering questions on everything from social media to photography, styling, starting and growing your own business from home and collaborating to build community.
