Since pretty much the day it opened, Emirates Wolgan Valley Resort & Spa has been an enthusiastic supporter of our farm and business; Mandagery Creek Venison. I remember doing a delivery there with Tim when very pregnant with Tommy and thinking I could happily spend the rest of my ‘confinement’/life here.
Honestly it’s the most beautiful spot and in the four years since our first ‘visit’, has established a deserved reputation not only for absolute luxury and conservation efforts but also incredible food. Chef Damian Brabender is a true supporter of our region’s producers and always represents us all well on his impressive menus.
So…when he called to say that on March 28/29, the resort would be hosting a special weekend showcasing the local produce and ‘personalities’ of our region, and would we come along to represent our venison? Of course, we readily agreed. The weekend is to be co-hosted by Gourmet Traveller magazine’s editor Anthea Loucas and food and style director Emma Knowles.
We will be joining guests and other producers for a special dinner under the stars on Friday March 28 then reluctantly pulling ourselves away while the weekend rolls on into one big, delicious package of cooking demonstrations, workshops and even a food and wine trail to Mudgee.
Apparently there are still some places available for this fantastic weekend away so if you have some pennies saved and fancy a weekend of top notch food, wine and luxury, then definitely check this out. All the details can be found here on the Wolgan Valley website.
