The July List

Somewhat late in arrival…. here is the July List. I do apologise for not posting this little collection of reading and links earlier, but things have been rather hectic here recently with Tim and I moving around like like ships in the night, travelling to and from Sydney for farmers markets and around the countryside for work.

I’m just back from a night in Mudgee (see above) where I caught up with a few farmers for my book. Speaking of which…. the manuscript is due in just a few weeks and time is hurtling along, so I’ll sign off for now and get back to my writing. Happy reading! Sophiex

• She Sows Seeds is such a beautiful blog, full of images and words that really bring its author’s South Australian country home to life. I particularly loved this post, featuring one of my favourite recipes from one of my favourite books, A Years’ Worth 
• They Draw and Cook is a fantastic website bringing artists and cooks together to create a library of illustrated recipes. Clever and fun
• Thank you Spots and Checks for introducing me to Trendland. There’s just so much to read/see/lust after here; including this collection of images featuring, my new dream kitchen/home (oh my god it’s beautiful) and this photo essay from Host restaurant in Copenhagen (how I’d love to eat here)
• Escaping to warmer climes via Griottes’ postcard from The Domenican Republic. Or to this beautiful South African farm, via Cereal Magazine 
• Swedish gingerbread cake with lingonberry frosting
• I always get lost over on Nectar and Light, a gorgeous blog from American photographer Jen Altman
• How to make an upside down cake with almost any fruit…handy little recipe this one
• For those with a lemon tree in the backgarden, try Emiko Davies’ recipe for cooking with the leaves

• The Winter issue of Fete magazine is just beautiful and the mag’s blog is also a great source of inspiration. Most recently it led me to From Soul, a fantastic Etsy shop selling loads of baking/craft supplies that I’d never seen before 
• This beautiful post on making honeysuckle cordial is making me wish for summer. And still on honeysuckle, here’s a beautiful post from Farmette; elderflower and honesuckle jelly anyone?
