So now we have set the soundrack to this post (and who doesn’t like Vanilla Ice?), I’m so excited to announce the dates for two new Local is Lovely Pracshops™! Whoop. Both are collaborations of the best order, bringing together a really wonderful team of teachers and creatives; from Country Style magazine’s editor Victoria Carey to photographer Luisa Brimble, stylist Stephanie Stamatis, artist Annie Herron and well, me. Bookings for both are now open. If you have any queries at all about either of these workshops please don’t hesitate to email me (sophie_hansen@me.com). And just to set the scene a little more, here are some pictures and words from our recent workshop.
Local is Lovely Winter Pracshop™ – Creative story telling , August 15/16
Join us for a very special residential two-day workshop this winter that’s all about telling stories; through food, words, photogrpahy and art. Country Style magazine’s editor Victoria Carey will talk about telling stories with words (and how to weave them together with images for today’s magazine), Photographer Luisa Brimble will teach us some basic techniques, her editing process and approach to making images flow together, while cook and food writer Sophie Herron (me again!) will share and demonstrate some favourite winter recipes which Luisa will help us photograph, (both the process and the end result). Artist and art teacher Annie Herron will also guide us through story telling through art, with a session on composition and basic drawing and illustration techniques. The venue is a beautiful country homestead and woolshed studio 2 1/2 hours west of Sydney where we will all share beautiful healthy meals together, talk and swap stories by the fire and come away feeling inspired and ready to tell new stories in our own unique way. Cost is $900pp and includes one night’s accommodation, two days of workshops and all meals. For bookings and more information; www.local-lovely.com To book, please click here.
