The winter school holidays are my favourite. These are days for adventures at home; for bright, cool afternoons when we pack a thermos, matches and a tin of muffins and spend hours running around the paddocks, lighting fires, toasting marshmallows and just playing.
So yesterday we did just that; enjoying the fact that there is water in the creek, no snakes to trip over and it’s still cold enough for hot chocolates and fires. Of course, my Tom fell in the creek and then sat down (sans pants) on a patch of stinging nettles, so that was fun, but otherwise our outing was incident free.
Our friend Jules brought along a tin of chocolate chip and honey muffins and they were so good, I asked for the recipe to share here. Really easy and sugar free (except for the honey and chocolate chips…) they were perfect with mugs of hot chocolate and will definitely get a repeat run in our house now I have the recipe. Thanks Jules!
